Learning Support Teacher

A Shadow Teacher serves as a bridge between the student with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the school environment. The primary goal is to foster independence, facilitate social integration, and adapt the curriculum to meet the student's unique learning profile while ensuring they remain safely engaged in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

Adapt learning materials and support academic engagement
Assist with task management, routines, and organization
Support social interaction and emotional regulation
Implement IEPs/BIPs and track student progress
Collaborate with teachers and communicate with parents
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
Relevant certifications (e.g., ABA, RBT, TEACCH) preferred
Minimum 2 years’ experience working with neurodivergent children in educational or clinical settings
Proficiency in visual aids and educational technology
Strong emotional intelligence, resilience, and ability to perform effectively under pressure
