Board of Governors
OIS’s Board of Governors has has an oversight function over the school’s vision, mission, strategic plan, policies and determines operational goals and will meet quarterly with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of OIS (Board of Governors’ meetings).
The Board currently consists of three members, with one member serving as Chair and being elected to that role by vote among Board members. The Chair presides over Board meetings and may in addition to the Board meetings, the Board Chair may meet and communicate with the SLT as required and deemed appropriate. The Board shall decide by simple majority vote.

Michael Osswald
Chair
Mr Michael Osswald has been involved with developing international schools and leading teams of educators and administrators for more than 15 years. He founded the European International School Ho Chi Minh City (EIS) in 2009 and lead EIS as CEO until 2015. Under his leadership, EIS developed into an IB continuum school – IB PYP, MYP, DP and expanded capacity and student population from 120 to 700 students and from 60 to 360 students respectively. His twin daughters graduated at EIS in 2022.
After leaving EIS in 2015, Michael founded Wisdomland Preschool, a boutique system for early Childhood education. Wisdomland offers full English programs (IB PYP) and integrated bilingual programs at 5 campuses in Ho Chi Minh City.
Michael joined Odyssey early 2025 and took responsibility for the management of the school as Director and investor. His motivation is to help build educational institutions that humbly can make difference to the life of young people and help to prepare them for their future lives.
Earlier in his career, Michael worked in corporate functions in the Telecommunications Industry in Germany and later in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam at a Cable TV start up operator in Ho Chi Minh City.

Tran Thi Tuyen
Vice Chair
Born and raised in Hanoi with the belief that “Education is the path to changing the future,” Ms Linh’s mission from an early age was devoted her youth to the mission of nurturing knowledge and spreading humanistic values.
As a graduate of the University of Education, she began her educational journey with the heart of a teacher and the mindset of an entrepreneur and the vision of creating genuine value for people and society. Over the years gradually she developed and managed educational projects - from the Nguyen Cong Hoan High School System, where she serves as CEO overseeing three campuses with more than 2,000 students, to the Victoria Kindergarten and Primary School on to OIS.
She also engages in community-oriented projects such as Little Pari – Hoi An, integrating human values into tourism, commerce, and sustainable development and involves with philanthropic activities — contributing financially to free meal programs for cancer patients, organizing fundraising campaigns for flood victims, and supporting families in need.
For her, true education must always be rooted in compassion and dedication to the community along her motto: “I strive every day to bring value to myself, my family, and my community — working together to build a sustainable, compassionate, and fulfilling future.”

Mr. Charles Grayhurst (“Mr. Charlie”)
School Improvement Advisor and Board Member
With nearly 30 years of experience in international education, Mr. Charles Grayhurst has held senior and executive leadership positions across Asia, including almost 20 years as a Head of School in Thailand, China, Dubai, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
Throughout his career, he has led both founding and established schools within premium international education groups, earning a reputation for driving improvement, building cohesive teams, and delivering high-quality learning experiences with purpose and authenticity.
Mr. Grayhurst’s leadership philosophy is grounded in integrity, care, and strategic clarity. He is passionate about cultivating high-performance cultures rooted in wellbeing, professional growth, and shared values. His focus on holistic and experiential learning—integrating academic excellence with real-world skills—reflects his belief that schools should prepare students not only to achieve but to contribute meaningfully to the world around them.
An experienced mentor and coach, Mr. Grayhurst brings deep expertise in strategy, quality assurance, and change leadership. He is particularly committed to empowering leadership teams to align vision with practice and to embedding school improvement frameworks that sustain excellence over time.
Beyond his professional life, Mr. Grayhurst enjoys music, sport, and time with his family at their home in Hue.
