Primary Years (PYP) Curriculum
Our Primary School offers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for children aged 6 to 11, providing a seamless and engaging transition from Kindergarten. This transdisciplinary programme is designed to encourage students to think beyond individual subjects, making connections across learning inside the classroom and the real world.

The curriculum covers six subjects, including:
-
Language
-
Mathematics
-
Science
-
Social Studies
-
Arts
-
Physical Education

Alongside a rigorous academic standard, the PYP also develops the learner as a whole, helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Through the interdisciplinary learning, IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning (ATLs), students build numerous soft skills, from a carefully designed framework (see above), learning to take ownership of their own academic journey.
Students experience hands-on learning, inquiry-based projects, and personalized support from our teachers, ensuring they gain knowledge, confidence, and a love of learning that prepares them for future success.
PYP Assessments
Assessments in the PYP are ongoing, holistic, and reflective. Teachers use observations, portfolios, journals, and presentations to capture each learners progress, understanding, and growth throughout the year, rather than issuing final tests and exams.
The PYP encourages students to engage in self-assessment, reflecting on their own learning, thinking critically about their progress, and identifying next steps. This process enables children to take ownership of their own learning while helping teachers tailor support to each student’s needs.
