Last Tuesday, our school felt a little extra special as we came together to celebrate Tết and welcome the Year of the Horse.
From the moment students arrived on campus dressed in traditional Vietnamese clothing and bright festive colors, they brought with them a sense of pride and excitement in the air.
We began the day with a fun and engaging student-led assembly. Our students shared traditional dances and songs, performing with confidence and heart. Watching them on stage — smiling, supporting one another, and proudly celebrating Vietnamese culture — was a prideful and memorable moment for us.
Tết holds deep importance in Vietnam. It is a time to pause, reconnect with family and community, and look ahead to the new year with hope. That spirit of togetherness was felt throughout our campus.
This wasn’t just a celebration we observed; it was one we lived together. In many ways, the day reflected exactly what the Odyssey community is all about — being welcoming, communal, and family-oriented, where traditions are shared and every member of our school feels they belong.

After the assembly, the center of our school became a shared space for learning and connection. Students and teachers played traditional games, explored hands-on activities, and gathered around the lucky money tree, which for many was the highlight of the day. Our Vietnamese community proudly shared stories, traditions, and personal experiences of Tết, giving everyone a deeper understanding of what the holiday truly means. It was especially lovely to see our international students getting involved — asking questions, laughing, and learning alongside their peers.
There were moments of dancing, crafting, storytelling, and plenty of shared smiles, reminding us how powerful it is to come together as a community.
As we step into the Year of the Horse — a symbol of strength, resilience, and forward movement — we do so feeling connected and grateful.
We wish all of our families a happy, healthy, and meaningful new year.
Chúc Mừng Năm Mới! 🧧
