Official Announcement: Odyssey is Now a Fully Authorized IB World School for PYP & MYP

We have some wonderful news to share with our Odyssey family! On Friday, we received the official word from the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organization: Odyssey is now fully authorized for both the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP)

A Journey We Shared Together

For the past several months, our teachers, staff, and leadership team have been working tirelessly behind the scenes during our IB candidacy period. We’ve been refining our lessons, collaborating across grades, and ensuring our teaching meets the highest global standards.

Remarkably, our team achieved full authorization in less than 18 months—an extraordinary milestone that usually takes much longer, and a true testament to the dedication, heart, and passion of our educators.

This moment belongs to our entire community. Thank you to our amazing staff, our curious learners, and every family who trusted and cheered us on along the way.

What Does This Mean for our Classrooms?

In the classroom, everything stays wonderfully familiar!

Because we integrated the IB framework into our daily schedules right from the start of candidacy, your children are already experiencing the inquiry-based, hands-on learning that IB is known for. Our daily routines, projects, and activities will continue seamlessly.

What Changes Now That We're Authorized?

While school life carries on as usual, official authorization opens up some exciting new doors:

• Official Recognition: Odyssey is now listed on the global registry of authorized IB World Schools.

• More Resources for Teachers: Our staff gets direct access to specialized training and global networks, bringing fresh ideas straight back to our classrooms.

• Quality Assurance: An independent evaluation team looked closely at our school and confirmed that our curriculum meets global benchmarks for quality education.

• Future Opportunities: For our older students, authorization unlocks official IB recognition and assessment pathways in their MYP years.

We are even more excited for what lies ahead.

Thank you for being such a vibrant, supportive part of our Odyssey community
